What is a normal day in your life?
Para mi un día normal, si tengo trabajo, es estar dibujando, pintando, editando vídeo o creando algún logo,
depende de los encargos, delante del PC o de un lienzo, escuchando música y bebiendo agua con limón, así escrito parece un poco triste, pero no lo cambio por nada.
My name is Fernando Martínez but I sign many jobs as X-Rays, I live in Elche, in the Spanish Levante.
For me a normal day, if I have work, is to be drawing, painting, editing video or creating some logo, depends on the orders, in front of the PC or a canvas, listening to music and drinking water with lemon, so written seems a little sad, but I do not change it for anything.

Muy variada, la verdad, siempre ha sido una zona con muchos músicos, muchos estilos, muchos locales de ensayo.

3- que llega primero a tu vida, la musica o el dibujo?

El dibujo siempre ha estado acompañandome desde que puedo recordar, la música también pero le presté atención algo más tarde, eso si, desde entonces no he parado de disfrutar de todo lo que he ido conociendo, voy escuchando cada vez más estilos y de momento no tengo intención de dejar de hacerlo.
The drawing has always been accompanying me for as long as I can remember, the music too but I paid attention to it a little later, that is, since then I have not stopped enjoying everything I've been knowing, I'm listening to each
more styles and at the moment I do not intend to stop doing it.
4- What are the graphic arts that you master and in which you specialize?
Dominar es una palabra muy fea, ademas no creo que llegue a ello nunca, siempre vas aprendiendo, tampoco quiero especializarme en nada en concreto, me gusta la variedad, es verdad que hacer portadas de discos me gusta mucho, supongo que es debido a mi condición de melómano.
Mastering is a very ugly word, I also do not think I ever get to it, you always learn, I do not want to specialize in anything in particular, I like the variety, it's true that I do album covers, I suppose it's because of me melomaniac condition.

Intento visualizar mentalmente lo que ando buscando, muchas veces antes de dormir, algo que no es del todo recomendable ya que corres el riesgo de olvidarlo todo al día siguiente, depende del estilo de ilustración en el que haya pensado, cojo los lápices o voy directamente al ordenador, si hago el dibujo a lápiz normalmente suelo hacer todo el proceso siguiente, tinta, escaner, vectorización y color con el PC, pero depende del estilo que vaya buscando, como he comentado antes. No sigo el mismo metodo siempre, a veces me pongo delante de la hoja en blanco a probar cosas directamente esperando a ver que sale, a veces durante el proceso voy descubriendo cosas, sobre todo con el pc, y el resultado final varía segun lo que tenía en mente.
I try to mentally visualize what I am looking for, many times before going to sleep, something that is not recommended, since you run the risk of forgetting everything the next day, depending on the style of illustration you have thought about, I take the pencils or I go directly to the computer, if I do the drawing in pencil I usually do the following process, ink, scanner,vectorization and color with the PC, but it depends on the style you are looking for, as I said before.
I do not follow the same method always, sometimes I put myself in front of the blank sheet to try things directly waiting to see what comes out, sometimes during the process I discover things, especially with the pc, and the final result varies according to what I had in mind.
6- Parece que eres una eminencia en lo que a ilustracion se refiere, almenos en tu ciudad no hay sitio al que se le escape un cartel tuyo para bandas Punks y otras. Cuentanos para que bandas has ilustrado discos o carteles.

Como bien dices, parece, pero solo eso, ja ja ja... en cuanto a lo de las portadas le he metido mano a bandas como F.A.N.T.A,
en la edición de vinilo de "asi no vamos a ninguna parte" de Rufus Recordings, The Kabooms, Acapulco Riders, Les Pick-Ups, Los Deformes, The Reverendos, Bordestones... y en cuanto a carteles he hecho cosas para bandas como The Scaners, The Bellrays, Paul Collins' Beat, King Khan. Downtown Boys, The Legendary Tigerman, Girls Names, The Rubinoos... casi todos para conciertos que han realizado en Alicante.

No soy mucho de tener favoritos o en todo caso serían demasiadas, tampoco me gustan las listas de mejores artistas ni nada de eso,
en cuanto a la música Punk siempre me han interesado los clásicos, Ramones, The Clash, The Heartbreakers (los de Johnny Thunders), Damned, The Jam, etc de los más contemporaneos me quedo con the Brieffs, the Spits, The Cavemen y de España los primeros trabajos de Siniestro Total, Los Nikis, Shock Treatment, Paralisis Permanente...
I am not much of having favorites or in any case they would be too many, I do not like the lists of best artists or anything like that,

Futuro Terror, Les Pick-Ups, La Cripta, Los Deformes, Ringo Rango...hay muchas, recuerdo especialmente a las Membranas, ya desaparecida.

10- cual es tu objetivo como ilustrador?

Vivir, que no es poco, conseguir proyectos con buenos presupuestos sería un poco la meta, no ya por lo material, que también ayuda, sino por poder emplear el tiempo adecuado para realizar un buen trabajo.
Living, which is not enough, getting projects with good budgets would be a bit the goal, not because of the material, which also helps, but to be able to use the right time to do a good job.

No sería vida, supongo que desciendo de aquellos que andaban pintando en las cavernas, o se dedicaban a aporrear troncos y tambores.
It would not be life, I suppose that I descend from those who were painting in the caverns, or engaged in beating trunks and drums.
Artista incansable cuya división entre las parcelas diversión y trabajo se diluye al compás de la buena música. ¡¡¡One-Two-Three-Four!!! Tá-naná-nanána-naná---Taná-naná...
