Hi, i am Marcus Schäfer from Hamburg Germany. I draw Comix, i paint and work as an illustrator.
Music, Comix, Books and Films are my things to go-go.
I like to do stuff, always got a lot of ideas i try to lay my hands on and work it out . Life is too short to do everything i would love to do. But someday it will probably end in a grave.

Dibujo Comix, pinto y trabajo como ilustrador.
Música, Comix, Libros y Películas son mis cosas para llevar.
Me gusta hacer cosas, siempre tengo muchas ideas y trato de ponerlas en práctica.
La vida es demasiado corta para hacer todo lo que me gustaría hacer.
Pero algún día probablemente terminará en una tumba.
2- since when do you draw underground art, and since when are you linked to this lifestyle?
2- ¿desde cuándo dibujas arte underground y desde cuándo estás vinculado a este estilo de vida?
In the nineties i became part of the Graffitti scene in Hamburg because of the Charakterz and Comics i was drawing, at the same time i discovered Hardcore Punk. Later i began to play bass in a garage Punk Band. Since early on people ask me to do their Flyers and Posters. I have draw monsters since childhood and i still do (hurray).
En los años noventa me convertí en parte de la escena de los Graffitti en Hamburgo debido a los Charakterz y los cómics que estaba dibujando, al mismo tiempo descubrí el Hardcore Punk.
Más tarde comencé a tocar el bajo en una Banda Punk de Garage.
Desde el principio, la gente me pide que haga sus folletos y carteles.
He dibujado monstruos desde la infancia y todavía lo hago (hurra).

Also since 2013 i paint the Poster and draw shirtz and Stickers for the Punkfestival Get Lost! Fest for Wildwaxshows who bring the best Punk Bands to Hamburg.

6- how are your jobs done? From the idea to the utmost details on the computer?
6- ¿Cómo se hacen tus trabajos?
¿De la idea a los máximos detalles en la computadora?
I barely work on the Computer.
I begin with a lot of rough sketches. When i paint i often do a detailed pensil sketch and transfer it with coalpaper to a canvas or cardboard. Then on glaze i paint with acrylic colours.
Apenas trabajo en la computadora.
Comienzo con muchos bocetos ásperos.
Cuando pinto, a menudo hago un boceto a lapiz detallado y lo transfiero con papel carbón a un lienzo o cartón.
Luego en el esmalte pinto con colores acrílicos.
7- How does internet influence your life and your drawings?

I listen to Music and Podcasts a lot while i draw.
Good for quick research and you find a lot of great artists around the Globe.
The bad thing is great Bookshops are closed. There aren`t Fanzines anymore you can flip thrue, but with that i can live . But everyone is nonstop looking at their fucking tiny screens and aren`t in reality anymore. And with all the manipulation going on playin to the hands of the Populists politicians , it feels more like a dystopian gadget. The moronic side of Humanity got a louder Voice. We are Devo ...
Escucho mucho música y podcasts mientras dibujo.
Es bueno para una investigación rápida y encuentra muchos grandes artistas en todo el mundo.
Lo malo es que las librerías están cerradas.
Ya no hay Fanzines a los que puedas revisar, pero con eso puedo vivir.
Pero todos no dejan de mirar sus jodidas pantallas diminutas y ya no están en la realidad.
Y con toda la manipulación pasando a manos de los políticos populistas, se siente más como un artilugio distópico.
El lado imbécil de la humanidad recibió una voz más fuerte.

8- What differences do you see between the musico-social of the 80s and today?
8- ¿Qué diferencias ves entre el musical-social de los 80 y el de hoy?
I can`t speak on the 80ties. But from the nineties to nowaday. Gentrification is still in full mode. Places for niche culture are getting rare. Rents are rising and Clubs need a bigger audience to run it. Often they play more mainstream music. Less space for experiments. Less space for bands to exercise. . More professionals running the cultural scene. And they want to make money and don`t take risks.
Some good places will always survive (fingers crossed).
No puedo hablar en los años 80.
Pero desde los noventa hasta hoy.
La gentrificación todavía está en modo completo.
Los lugares para la cultura de nicho se están volviendo raros.
Los alquileres están aumentando y los clubes necesitan una mayor audiencia para ejecutarlo.
A menudo tocan más música convencional.
Menos espacio para experimentos.
Menos espacio para que las bandas ejerzan.
Más profesionales dirigiendo la escena cultural.
Y quieren ganar dinero y no correr riesgos.
Algunos buenos lugares siempre sobrevivirán (dedos cruzados).
9- do you follow the illustrations of other artists? Who are they?

There are a lot of different Artists i check out regular. Robert Morgan is a genius Animator of surreal Horror films for example. Jörg Buttgereit is a Horrorfilm/theater Director, also he writes Comicstories and Books on Films (a great Godjira Fan also).
Markus Müller aka Won from the ABC Crew is a great Spraycanarts . The Illustrator ChrigelFarner, Illustrator Babara Lüdde aka Gwaendo , the Painter Heiko Müller, French Comicbookartist, Illustrator and artist in many fields Stephane Blanquet, Joji Tani aka Screaming Mad Geaorge master of dark FX and Make up effects. Comicbook artist Jim Woodring. One of my favourite painters Robert Williams. Pencil Quincy is a great painter.
And , well it`s an endless list.
Hay muchos artistas diferentes que reviso regularmente.
Robert Morgan es un genio animador de películas de terror surrealistas, por ejemplo.
Jörg Buttgereit es director de cine de terror / teatro, también escribe cómics y libros sobre películas (un gran fan de Godjira también).

10- what was the best concert you saw? Do you remember why?
10- ¿Cuál fue el mejor concierto que viste?
¿Recuerdas por qué?
The best i don `t know. I still watch Bands in smaller Clubs and it makes my day.
But a great moment was my first Concert in former Theater than Squatted autonomous cultural center the Rote Flora a long time ago, some Friends brought me there and i didn`t know what to expect. Japanese Noise-Rock-Band Zeni Geva played that night. The Band, the place and the people there were a great discovery.
El mejor no lo sé.
Todavía veo bandas en clubes más pequeños y eso me alegra el día.
Pero un gran momento fue mi primer concierto en el antiguo teatro que el centro cultural autónomo en cuclillas Rote Flora hace mucho tiempo, algunos amigos me llevaron allí y no sabía qué esperar.
La japonesa Noise-Rock-Band Zeni Geva tocó esa noche.
La banda, el lugar y la gente allí fueron un gran descubrimiento.

It would become miserable and depressingly boring. Life wouldn`t make much sense.
I would turn to sports and become a sad sop (waah, i don`t think so)
Or i would become a gardener and listen to the bees and birds.
Well life would become a total farce without
Se volvería miserable y deprimentemente aburrido.
La vida no tendría mucho sentido.
Me volvería a los deportes y me convertiría en un triste soplo (waah, no lo creo)
O me convertiría en jardinero y escucharía a las abejas y los pájaros.
Bueno, la vida se convertiría en una farsa total sin una salida.
