Cartoonist: Huere artworks.

1- who are you, where do you come from and where are you going?

1- ¿quién eres, de dónde vienes y a dónde vas?

Hi! I’m Julien, aka Giulio, aka Huere.

I come from the south of the Swiss alps, from a little region where italian is the main language.

I guess I’m going to the end, sometimes slow sometimes fast, inexorably rotting like everyone else.

Soy del sur de los Alpes suizos, de una pequeña región donde el italiano es el idioma principal.

2- since when do you draw grindcore art, and since when are you linked to this lifestyle?

I began doing Grindcore/Punk artworks around ten years ago for different bands but already started to do some drawings for my band Insomnia Isterica since the beginning of it in 2006.

I’ve been played in punk bands (or a sort of it…) since 2003, swapping between genders such Oi!, Hardcore Punk, Thrashcore and Grind.

Comencé a hacer obras de arte Grindcore / Punk hace unos diez años para diferentes bandas, pero ya comencé a hacer algunos dibujos para mi banda Insomnia Isterica desde el comienzo en 2006.

He tocado en bandas de punk (o algo así ...) desde 2003, intercambiando géneros como Oi Comencé a hacer obras de arte Grindcore / Punk hace unos diez años para diferentes bandas, pero ya comencé a hacer algunos dibujos para mi banda Insomnia Isterica desde el comienzo en 2006.

Me han tocado en bandas de punk (o algo así...) desde 2003, intercambiando géneros como Oi !, Hardcore Punk, Thrashcore y Grind.!, Hardcore Punk, Thrashcore y Grind.

3- For what bands have you done illustrations?

3- ¿Para qué bandas has hecho ilustraciones?

Mortify, Terror Firmer, Repulsione, Collapse, Lycanthrophy, The Afternoon Gentlemen, Hangover Generation, Speed Köbra, Warfuck, Task Force Beer and for labels like Grindfather Productions, Good Guys Go Grind and Arti Fantasme (local Hip Hop label).

I did flyers for the Rotten Flesh Fest in Italy and recently for the Grind The Nazi Scum Festival in Germany.

Mostly I make illustration for my own band.

Mortify, Terror Firmer, Repulsione, Collapse, Lycanthrophy, The Afternoon Gentlemen, Hangover Generation, Speed Köbra, Warfuck, Task Force Beer y para Sellos como: Grindfather Productions, Good Guys Go Grind y Arti Fantasme (Sello local de Hip Hop).

Hice volantes para el Rotten Flesh Fest en Italia y recientemente para el Grind The Nazi Scum Festival en Alemania.

Principalmente hago ilustraciones para mi propia banda.

4- what are your favorite bands?

4- ¿cuáles son tus bandas favoritas?

I started to love Grindcore discovering Cripple Bastards about 15 years ago. I have a lot of favorite bands:

Archagathus, Massgrave, Weekend Nachos, In Disgust, Active Minds, Insect Warfare, TAG, Shitgrinder,…more or less whatever band every dude like into Grindcore.

I also really like and listen to other genders and bands like Papir, Type O Negative, Weedeater, Eyehategod, Noothgrush, Earth, Colour Haze, Kyuss, and so on.

Also Death Metal bands like Mammoth Grinder, Acephalix and Stench Of Decay are some.

Empecé a amar a Grindcore descubriendo a los Cripple Bastards hace unos 15 años.

Tengo muchas bandas favoritas:

Archagathus, Massgrave, Weekend Nachos, In Disgust, Active Minds, Insect Warfare, TAG, Shitgrinder, ... más o menos cualquier banda que le guste a todos en el Grindcore.

También me gusta y escucho otros géneros y bandas como Papir, Type O Negative, Weedeater, Eyehategod, Noothgrush, Earth, Color Haze, Kyuss, etc.

También hay bandas de Death Metal como Mammoth Grinder, Acephalix y Stench Of Decay.

5- what bands can you recommend from your environment?

5- ¿Qué bandas puedes recomendar de tu entorno?

Discomfort Of Existence and Nasty Face from Switzerland. Warfuck and Whoresnation from France. Skulld, Terror Firmer, Eraser and ANF from Italy.

The Afternoon Gentlemen, Famine and Active Minds from the UK. Task Force Beer from Germany. These are bands from the closest environment I can recommend.

6- how are your jobs done?

From the idea to the utmost details on the computer?

6- ¿Cómo se hacen tus trabajos?

¿De la idea a los máximos detalles en la computadora?

I decide before which technique I want to use for a specific illustration, I mainly utilize ink pens on paper. I did a few covers using graphic tablets for the coloring and others with the use of aquarel colors.

Now I’m trying to improve my skills also with colored markers mixed with pencils. The final result is always far from the original idea but I can stand it, the computer softwares helps me to adjust the contrasts and make an outer line if needed.

I don’t deny that it helps me also to erase some detail that I don’t like on the physical final result.

Antes de decidir qué técnica quiero usar para una ilustración específica, utilizo principalmente lápices de tinta en papel.

Hice algunas portadas con tabletas gráficas para colorear y otras con colores de acuarela.

Ahora estoy tratando de mejorar mis habilidades también con marcadores de colores mezclados con lápices.

El resultado final siempre está lejos de la idea original, pero puedo soportarlo, el software de la computadora me ayuda a ajustar los contrastes y hacer una línea externa si es necesario.

No niego que también me ayuda a borrar algunos detalles que no me gustan del resultado final físico.

7- How does the internet influence your life and your drawings?

7- ¿Cómo influye Internet en tu vida y tus dibujos?

Quite a lot. I like to learn from other artists, looking to how they do some things compare to me, how they compose the frame and how they master with lights and shadows.

Also without the Internet I probably would never began making artworks for other bands.

Me gusta aprender de otros artistas, ver cómo comparan algunas cosas conmigo, cómo componen el cuadro y cómo dominan con luces y sombras.

Además, sin Internet, probablemente nunca comenzaría a hacer obras de arte para otras bandas.

8- What differences do you see between the musico-social of the 80s and today?

8- ¿Qué diferencias ves entre el musical-social de los 80 y el de hoy?

Now we spend money in electricity and social disorders, back then it would have been in stamps, paper and ink.

I think alcohol and drugs are the elements that link people during the periods eheh.

Ahora gastamos dinero en electricidad y desórdenes sociales, en ese entonces habría sido en sellos, papel y tinta.

Creo que el alcohol y las drogas son los elementos que unen a las personas durante los períodos, eheh.

9- do you follow the illustrations of other artists? Who are they?

Defame Art, Crap Panther, Daniel Shaw, Andrei Bouzikov, Riddick, Cosmic Havik, Heavy Hand, Matt Stikker, Nicolas Rossius, Pogger, Aaron Horkey, Luis Sendon, Jasper Infested, Arik Roper, Frank Frazetta.

10- what was the best concert you saw?

Do you remember why?

10- ¿Cuál fue el mejor concierto que viste?

¿Recuerdas por qué?

A couple of them: Belzebong and Conan in Winterthur, maybe because I was drunk, but for sure one of the best concerts I ever saw.

Cripple Bastards at Mountains Of Death in 2006. I was young and still didn’t know a lot of other grind bands, probably drunk too and in a very good physical shape eheh.

Un par de ellos: Belzebong y Conan en Winterthur, tal vez porque estaba borracho, pero seguramente uno de los mejores conciertos que he visto.

Cripple Bastards en Mountains Of Death en 2006. Era joven y todavía no conocía muchas otras bandas grind, probablemente también borracho y en muy buena forma física, eheh.

11- why black and white and not the color?

11- ¿por qué el blanco y negro y no el color?

Like I already said I did a few colored artworks, it depends if the image require it.

For one of the last I spent almost six hours coloring it with markers and pencils and for the final result I choose to desaturate the whole thing leaving it in greyscale.

Black and white is more raw and immediate, like the images on a comic book’s stripes. It also reminds directly to the punk art scenery of the 80’s.

Como ya dije que hice algunas obras de arte de colores, depende de si la imagen lo requiere.

En uno de los últimos pasé casi seis horas coloreándolo con marcadores y lápices y para el resultado final elijo desaturarlo todo dejándolo en escala de grises.

El blanco y negro es más crudo e inmediato, como las imágenes en las rayas de un cómic.

También recuerda directamente al escenario del arte punk de los años 80.
