Cartoonist: Marcus Kinberg.

1- What is your name, where are you from and where are you going?

1- My name is Marcus Kinberg, I’m from Helsingborg in southern Sweden. My latest art project is illustrations of people from the early punk scene and will be out in a book in a month or so.

2- What comes first to your life, art or mudica? and since when do you combine them?

2-Nowadays art comes first, music secondary. It didn’t use to be like that since I was more into doing music in various bands before and didn’t have that much time to do art. But I’ve been combining the two interests ever since I’ve started doing music and artwork for my own bands and other friends bands. They go hand in

No solía ser así, ya que antes me gustaba más hacer música en varias bandas y no tenía tanto tiempo para hacer arte.

3- what arts do you control?

3-As far as art goes, I guess I basically draw illustrations mostly. Sometimes more to the cartoon style but also water coloring and cut & paist collage. I don’t have the time or patience to do acrylic or oil paintings.
3-En lo que respecta al arte, supongo que básicamente dibujo ilustraciones, principalmente.
A veces más para el estilo de dibujos animados, pero también para colorear con agua y cortar y combinar collage.
No tengo el tiempo ni la paciencia para hacer pinturas acrílicas o al óleo.

4- What are your favorite albums or bands?

4-Tough questions. I guess my favorite bands are (at the moment) Butthole Surfers, Black Flag, Plaque Marks, Sleep, TSOL, Big Black, Depeche Mode, Melvins, Cows, SSD, Earth, Germs, Part Chimp to name a few.

5-I’ve done artwork for bands like Acid Ape, Bacon Wagon, Hooves Not Hands, Slöa Knivar, Plaque Marks, Surbort, the Guilt, Attention Span, Beyond Pink. Probably forgetting a couple.

6-Most of the art I make has some connection to music in one way or another.

7- where have your illustrations been exhibited?

7-I’ve actually never had like a proper exhibition but hopefully something soon.

8- Do you remember what was the best concert you saw? why?

8-Best concert was seeing the Melvins first time in 1996 in Copenhagen, Denmark when they toured the Stoner Witch album.   It was mind blowing, weird, super loud and awesome. I got to see Dale Crover in his prime, beating the shit out of the drums.
8- Lo mejor fue ver a los Melvins por primera vez en 1996 en Copenhague, Dinamarca, cuando realizaron una gira por el álbum Stoner Witch.
Fue alucinante, raro, súper ruidoso e increíble.
Pude ver a Dale Crover en su mejor momento, golpeando la batería.

9- What do you need to do as a cartoonist?

9-I guess I’ll have to keep on drawing, practicing and what not.
9-Supongo que tendré que seguir dibujando, practicando y lo que no.

10- what would your life be like without art and music?
10- ¿Cómo sería tu vida sin arte y música?

10-My life without art and music would be extremely boritng, can’t imagine what it would be like.
10-Mi vida sin arte y música sería extremadamente aburrida, no puedo imaginar cómo sería.
