1. who are you, where do you comefrom and where are you going?
1.¿Quién eres, de dónde vienes y a dónde vas?
My name is „Normal Gergely”, I work as a graphic designer under the name of „Normal ILLustrations”. Born and raised in Hungary, but constantly on the road. No plan for the future and everything can happen. Freedom is quite important for me, and thats why I am a freelance artist. Humanity is unsuitable for slavery. If people live in slavery they will be sick as hell for generations as a heritage. You’re probably asking me in the way of my graphic job right? I am absolutely open for any collaborations. Mostly I illustrate metal and punk graphics, but gladly design for any genre music.
Mi nombre es "Gergely normal", trabajo como diseñador gráfico bajo el nombre de "Normal ILustrations".
Nacido y criado en Hungría, pero constantemente en el camino.

2.since when do you draw punk art, and since when are you linked to this lifestyle?
2. ¿Desde cuándo dibujas el punk y desde cuándo estás vinculado a este estilo de vida?
Ive drawn my insanity since I could hold the pen actually. My father was aslo good at sketching, he showed me some cool things. Of course I did not know what for at the time…but drawing was my escape route from the post-communist reality in my childhood. I was graduated as an art teacher but after only a few years realised that I could make money from this art profession as a freelancer graphic artist. Punk is an attitude and energy how you look at the things. I like this kind of critical approach in art. I like the diy movement, I also work alongside „Neenache.” A Californian screenprinter. They do impressive works, the designs are full of society critique. what is prefered really.
He dibujado mi locura ya que en realidad podía sostener la pluma.
Mi padre también era bueno dibujando, me mostró algunas cosas geniales.
Por supuesto, no sabía para qué en ese momento ... pero dibujar era mi ruta de escape de la realidad poscomunista en mi infancia.
Me gradué como profesor de arte, pero después de unos pocos años me di cuenta de que podía ganar dinero con esta profesión de arte como artista gráfico independiente.
El punk es una actitud y energía en la forma de ver las cosas.

Creating is a very organic process for me. I usually compose experimental noise and some post-punk, post-black musics as well. I made all the covers for myself and the others at the label also wanted some visuals from me, (thx to SP and Sirona Records) and that is how it started. Right now I have several bigger names and various genre artists in my portfolio. Not only the totally underground hardcore ones, but pop-rock bands are also hitting me up to get graphics. Sometimes it’s funny because some fully poppish band with a hard rock look will want my brutal drawings for their t-shirts. They want to be hard and natural born raw but they’re not. Nice guys definitely. So „Today Is The Day” has two of my t-shirt designs that I really like and am proud of them. There is a new halloween shirt design for the very cool „Maid of Ace”. They are touring with the one and only...the legend. „The Exploited” – I made one of their poster for that tour. I also made a poster for Lion’s Law for the event at the Londoner 100 Club. Somethings like that recently.
Crear es un proceso muy orgánico para mí.
Por lo general, compongo ruido experimental y algunas músicas post-punk y post-negras también.
Hice todas las portadas para mí y para los demás en el sello también quería algunas imágenes mías (gracias a SP y Sirona Records) y así fue como comenzó.

A veces es divertido porque alguna banda completamente pop con un aspecto hard rock querrá mis dibujos brutales para sus camisetas.
Quieren ser duros y naturales nacidos crudos, pero no lo son.
Buenos chicos definitivamente.
Así que "Today Is The Day" tiene dos de mis diseños de camisetas que realmente me gustan y estoy orgulloso de ellos.
Hay un nuevo diseño de camisa de halloween para la genial "Maid of Ace".
Están de gira con los únicos... la leyenda.
"The Exploited" - Hice uno de sus carteles para esa gira.
También hice un póster para Lion’s Law para el evento en el Londoner 100 Club.

4. what are your favorite bands?
4. ¿Cuáles son tus bandas favoritas?
I don’t think that I have only one favorite band. When I work on my drawings I usually listen to quite heavy and aggressive stuff, but if I'm relaxing I enjoy atmospheric, meditative, easy sounds.
No creo que solo tenga una banda favorita.
Cuando trabajo en mis dibujos, generalmente escucho cosas bastante pesadas y agresivas, pero si me relajo, disfruto de sonidos atmosféricos, meditativos y fáciles.
5. what bands can you recommend from your environment?
5.¿Qué bandas puedes recomendar de tu entorno?
There are many great bands around the world. People have their own risk, which one is the best for them? No recipies no masters and gods of course. Highly motivated in politics ..don’t get me wrong, not about any kind of fckng corrupt party. I love those bands who have a sharp character and opinion about something. Social resposibility in the organic way. I mean if you listen to power electronics or any kind of abstract genre without texts it’s also can be a strong judgement because of the level of the aggression and because of the title and the cover. I like when there is a message in there or somebody says something about us or give just a fresh impulse. If you are looking for something about life…than you are on the road. Sure in the end you will find nothing but you can learn and we are not alone while we travel with music.
Hay muchas grandes bandas en todo el mundo.
Las personas tienen su propio riesgo, ¿cuál es el mejor para ellos?
Sin recetas, sin maestros y dioses, por supuesto.
Altamente motivado en política ... no me malinterpreten, no se trata de ningún tipo de partido corrupto.
Me encantan esas bandas que tienen un carácter agudo y una opinión sobre algo.
Responsabilidad social en la forma orgánica.
Quiero decir que si escuchas electrónica de potencia o cualquier tipo de género abstracto sin textos, también puede ser un juicio fuerte debido al nivel de la agresión y al título y la portada.
Me gusta cuando hay un mensaje allí o alguien dice algo sobre nosotros o da un nuevo impulso.
Si buscas algo sobre la vida ... entonces estás en el camino.
Seguro que al final no encontrarás nada pero puedes aprender y no estamos solos mientras viajamos con música.
6. How does the internet influence your life and your drawings?
6.¿Cómo influye Internet en tu vida y tus dibujos?
One of my favorite topic is that. Our past is like a dark distopic vision without internet. We were in a closed cultural cage with ordered bittersweet heritage before the world wide web. There was a moment in the 90’s when the doors of the freedom was opened. Everything could connect to each other. My artworks could be connected for for example a South-American bands… it could happen like a miracle. After a while we realised that „freedom is slavery”. The almighty social media brought the chaos to the the identity. How social media shapes your identity? It was like all of us had been molested. Everything is about fear and power. I have a new drawing series about social media and societal critique. This is a huge crisis in identity because, for example: our religions, our families and friends are not strong enough to solve our daily problems, fix our emotions or protect us in the digital darkness.

Nuestro pasado es como una oscura visión distópica sin internet.
Estábamos en una jaula cultural cerrada con un patrimonio agridulce ordenado antes de la red mundial.
Hubo un momento en los años 90 cuando se abrieron las puertas de la libertad.
Todo podría conectarse entre sí.
Mis obras de arte podrían conectarse, por ejemplo, a bandas sudamericanas ... podría suceder como un milagro.
Después de un tiempo nos dimos cuenta de que "la libertad es esclavitud".
Las redes sociales todopoderosas llevaron el caos a la identidad.
¿Cómo las redes sociales dan forma a tu identidad?
Era como si todos hubiéramos sido molestados.
Todo se trata de miedo y poder.
Tengo una nueva serie de dibujos sobre redes sociales y crítica social.
Esta es una gran crisis de identidad porque, por ejemplo: nuestras religiones, nuestras familias y amigos no son lo suficientemente fuertes como para resolver nuestros problemas diarios, arreglar nuestras emociones o protegernos en la oscuridad digital.
7- Follow the illustrations of other artists?
7. ¿Sigues las ilustraciones de otros artistas? ¿Quienes son?
You can find a lots of great illustrators on the net. I follow many of them. This is so cool about the internet, you can reach any information that you need. Probably they also effect me and my artworks. You know this is everyday socialization. Everything around us is an enormous inspiration. we are the filters and distortion, thats why no two thoughts are the same.

8- what was the best concert you saw? Do you remember why?
8. ¿Cuál fue el mejor concierto que viste? ¿Recuerdas por qué?
I don’t remember only one concert. Probably the best was a very small basement noise show somewhere in the suburb. Not because of the quality but somehow the performance and the athmosphere touched me.
No recuerdo solo un concierto.
Probablemente lo mejor fue un espectáculo de ruido de sótano muy pequeño en algún lugar del suburbio.
No por la calidad, pero de alguna manera el rendimiento y la atmósfera me conmovieron.

10- what would your life be like without art and music?
10. ¿Cómo sería tu vida sin arte y música?
There IS life without music and art, but it means SO much for me and for humanity. It’s part of me, my daily routine and my culture. Art is a connection with the god inside us. Music is for all occasions, for a marrige, for a funeral. Art is everyone’s support and the common langauge for us in hard times and good times
Hay vida sin música ni arte, pero significa MUCHO para mí y para la humanidad.
Es parte de mí, mi rutina diaria y mi cultura.
El arte es una conexión con el dios dentro de nosotros.
La música es para todas las ocasiones, para un casamiento, para un funeral.
El arte es el apoyo de todos y el lenguaje común para nosotros en tiempos difíciles y buenos tiempos también.
